Happy Summer Break!

Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving your students and your family this school year. We hope our students have a safe and joyous summer break, and we look forward to seeing you at the block party on August 2nd to welcome you back.

During the summer, our school will be available to support you from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday. If you need assistance, please call us at (832) 223-6400.

Summer Reading Opportunities

Although the school year is coming to an end, reading can continue all summer long. Please make plans to attend the LCISD Reads Summer Events being hosted at Gray Elementary on June 25 and July 10. Also, check out the many local merchants who offer FREE items for reading books.

Transportation Forms - Due May 22

Dear Lamar CISD parents and guardians,

Please complete the required student transportation form before the last day of school on May 22, 2025. This form provides our transportation department with important information to organize bus routes for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Log into Family Access to fill out and submit the form.

Each student, no matter their form of transportation, must have a student transportation form completed by their parent or guardian before the start of the next school year. It’s especially important for bus riders to fill out the Transportation Form to ensure they have bus transportation on the first day of school (Monday, August 11, 2025).

Vaccines

Vaccines are safe and lifesaving. Your child may have fallen behind in required vaccinations over the last year. If your child needs vaccines for next school year, Memorial Hermann Clinic can provide no cost vaccinations for students who are uninsured or have Medicaid. Please call the Memorial Hermann Lamar Clinic at 281.762.8383 or Memorial Hermann Terry Clinic at 281.238.0852. Otherwise call your regular primary care physician.

Memorial Herman Lamar Clinic schools served: Lamar Consolidated High School, Lamar Junior High School, Wessendorff Middle School, Austin Elementary, Smith Elementary, Hutchinson Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Jane Long Elementary, Juan Seguin Early Childhood Center, Pink Elementary, & Phelan Elementary.

Good-bye from Mrs. Carpenter

I can't bear to say goodbye, so instead, I want to take a moment to share a heartfelt so long for now with my Gray family. Helping launch Gray Elementary and building relationships with you and our students has been an unforgettable joy. I will never forget the feeling of excitement from students and staff and the energy in the building on our first day in August 2024. In year two, I felt proud to watch our students grow and flourish under the strong leadership of Mrs. Crosby and the excellent, caring teachers we have here at Gray. It is exciting to pass the torch to Ms. Macleod, as I know how much she loves our Grizzlies and will work hard to ensure they continue to achieve unbelievable goals!

As I continue my journey in Lamar CISD as Principal of Terrell Elementary next year, I am only an email away! I would love to keep in touch with my Grizzlies, so feel free to email me and keep me updated on your exciting progress. Parents, please reach out if there's ever anything I can do to help. I will miss all of my Grizzlies, and I can't wait to hear how they continue to grow and excel over the years! I hope you never stop Growling with Greatness! 🐻♥
